D.B. Corp Limited has announced the appointment of Rakesh Khetan as its Chief Information Officer (CIO), with effect from January 15, 2026, as the company strengthens its focus on technology-led transformation and digital resilience.
Khetan will head the media group’s technology function, with responsibility for IT strategy, digital transformation, cybersecurity and governance frameworks across the organisation.
Leadership transition at the top
Khetan succeeds Amit Prakashrao Waghmare, who has tendered his resignation as CIO. The company said Waghmare will cease to be part of the senior management team effective January 31, 2026.
The transition marks a change in leadership at a time when media companies are increasingly investing in digital platforms, data security and technology modernisation.
Over two decades of technology leadership
Khetan brings more than 21 years of experience spanning information technology, digital transformation, IT governance and cybersecurity.
His professional background includes extensive work in enterprise IT strategy, ERP implementations, cloud migration, cybersecurity frameworks, digital platforms, automation, analytics and IT risk management. He has also partnered closely with senior leadership teams on matters relating to IT governance, regulatory compliance and business continuity planning.
Strong academic and professional credentials
Academically, Khetan holds a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science, along with a Master of Business Administration and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration.
He also carries several industry certifications, including ITIL 4, SIAM Professional and Oracle Certified Professional.
Previous roles across major corporations
Before joining D.B. Corp, Khetan held senior technology leadership positions at IB Group, Adani Wilmar Limited, Olam Agro India Ltd. and Tata Motors Ltd., where he was involved in driving large-scale IT transformation initiatives and strengthening digital infrastructure.
With this appointment, D.B. Corp is expected to further accelerate its technology roadmap as it navigates the evolving digital media landscape.
