Dabur India has named consumer goods veteran Herjit S. Bhalla as Chief Executive Officer of its India business, effective April 15, 2026, as part of a broader senior leadership reshuffle aimed at strengthening domestic execution.

The appointment, approved by the company’s board, comes alongside the elevation of Mohit Malhotra to Whole-Time Director and Global Chief Executive Officer. In his new role, Bhalla will report to Malhotra and assume full charge of Dabur’s India operations.

The company said Bhalla’s mandate will focus on sharpening category leadership, accelerating growth, and driving stronger execution across its core domestic portfolio, at a time when competition in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector continues to intensify.

Bhalla brings over 25 years of experience across commercial and general management roles in India and international markets. A commerce graduate from the University of Delhi, he also holds an MBA from Management Development Institute, Gurugram.

He spent 16 years at Unilever in senior sales and marketing roles, including international assignments, before moving into organised retail as Chief Operating Officer at Metro Cash & Carry India. He later joined The Hershey Company, where he served as Managing Director for India and also held vice-president responsibilities overseeing international markets and global customer strategy.

The leadership transition signals Dabur’s renewed emphasis on reinforcing its India business as consumer demand evolves and companies face increasing pressure to defend market share through innovation, distribution strength, and pricing discipline.

With Bhalla set to steer domestic operations, industry observers will closely watch whether Dabur can accelerate growth momentum in its home market, even as Malhotra drives the company’s global strategy forward.
