Cheil South West Asia (SWA) has appointed Sungkyoon Kim as President and CEO of the Cheil SWA Group. He will be based out of the agency’s Gurgaon headquarters.
In his new role, Kim will oversee a team of over 1,000 professionals across Cheil’s offices in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai and Kolkata. He will lead integrated functions spanning creative, data, technology, retail, media and experiential.
Kim brings more than 30 years of experience in marketing strategy, data analytics and consumer psychology. Prior to this appointment, he served as Head of Digital Platform Business, overseeing Samsung.com. He also led the DnA (Data and Analytics) Center at Cheil, where he drove the agency’s CRM and data initiatives.
Over the years, Kim has led multiple data-driven digital transformation initiatives at Cheil, strengthening CRM, media, marketing and AI capabilities. His work includes the design and deployment of a real-time digital media optimisation platform integrating cross-channel spend and performance data to improve investment efficiency and ROI. He also led the development of LLM-powered AI agents for real-time analysis and automated insight generation.
An Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) expert, Kim has spearheaded marketing automation initiatives to unify customer data and enable real-time, personalised cross-channel campaigns.
He also played a key role in establishing Cheil’s Global Data Center in India, strengthening its offshore R&D capabilities and improving global operational efficiency.
