Badri Beriwal has joined Bennett Coleman & Co. Ltd. (BCCL), publisher of The Times of India, as Director – Brand, Product & Portfolio Strategy, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Beriwal joins BCCL after more than three years with Bata India, where he served as Chief Strategy and Business Development Officer from May 2023 to July 2026. At Bata India, he was responsible for shaping the strategic direction of the company’s retail operations and marketing for Bata and Hush Puppies in India. His responsibilities also included driving the expansion of the store network to more than 2,000 locations.
In his new role at BCCL, Beriwal will lead brand and portfolio strategy across the company’s publishing businesses. His mandate will also encompass product innovation, brand-led intellectual properties, audience engagement and the creation of new business opportunities, with a focus on developing platforms, growth avenues and revenue streams.
Beriwal brings more than two decades of experience spanning consumer, retail, FMCG and platform-led businesses. Before joining Bata India, he spent more than five years at Britannia Industries, where he joined in April 2018 as Category Head and was promoted to National Sales Development Manager in July 2019.
He subsequently took on the role of Vice President, New Business and CEO of BritChip, the joint venture between Britannia and Chipita, in March 2021. In January 2022, he was elevated to Chief Business Officer, New Business and CEO, BritChip, a position he held until May 2023.
Earlier in his career, Beriwal held marketing leadership positions at Stanley Black & Decker and Veeba, in addition to experience with organisations including GSK Consumer Healthcare and Walmart.
