Ayush Kapoor has joined patisserie chain Theobroma as its new chief marketing officer, according to a post shared by him on LinkedIn. In his new role, Kapoor will oversee the brand’s marketing strategy as the company continues to expand its presence in India’s premium food and bakery segment.

Move from Bombay Shirt Company

Kapoor transitions to Theobroma from Bombay Shirt Company, where he led the brand’s marketing and digital business for over a year and a half. During his tenure, he was involved in strengthening the company’s digital engagement and brand positioning.

Extensive FMCG and global brand experience

With a career spanning more than a decade, Kapoor brings significant FMCG and brand-building experience to his new role. He spent close to 12 years at Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL), where he last served as global brand director. In that capacity, he led the iconic soap brand Lux across multiple international markets, including South Asia, Africa and Latin America.

Kapoor’s appointment comes as Theobroma continues to scale its operations and sharpen its marketing focus amid growing competition in the organised bakery and dessert market in India.
