Vadilal Industries has appointed Ravi Makwana as its new chief marketing officer, strengthening the company’s leadership team as it sharpens its focus on brand-building and category growth across its consumer portfolio.
Makwana brings with him over a decade of experience spanning FMCG, quick-service restaurants (QSR) and consumer brands. In his new role, he will be responsible for driving Vadilal’s marketing strategy, brand positioning and consumer engagement initiatives.
Experience Across FMCG and QSR
Prior to joining Vadilal Industries, Makwana served as category head at Zydus Wellness, where he led brand and category growth initiatives across key portfolios. His role involved strengthening brand equity while driving scale in competitive consumer segments.
Before his stint at Zydus Wellness, Makwana was chief marketing officer at Tim Hortons India. As a member of the brand’s seed team, he played a pivotal role in introducing the global QSR chain to the Indian market, overseeing marketing strategy and product development during its market entry phase.
Strong Foundation at Tata Consumer Products
Makwana’s earlier career includes multiple leadership roles at Tata Consumer Products, where he worked across brand management, category leadership and P&L responsibilities. His work focused primarily on the Tata Salt and detergent portfolio, giving him deep exposure to large-scale FMCG operations and mass-market brands.
He has also held positions at Asian Paints, where his responsibilities spanned brand management and sales, providing him with a blend of strategic marketing expertise and on-ground commercial experience.
