Swiggy has launched EatRight, a new category on its food delivery platform aimed at simplifying the discovery and ordering of healthier meal options for everyday consumption. The category is currently live across more than 50 cities in India.

Bringing health-focused options under one umbrella

EatRight consolidates Swiggy’s existing health-led offerings—High Protein, Low Cal and No Added Sugar—into a single, dedicated section. According to the company, the category features over 1.8 million dishes curated from more than 200,000 restaurant partners on the platform. Users can access the section by searching for “EatRight” directly on the Swiggy app.

Unlike diet- or plan-specific food verticals, EatRight has been positioned as an everyday food choice. The selection includes high-protein versions of commonly ordered meals, lower-calorie alternatives to familiar dishes, as well as desserts and beverages made without added sugar.

Company focus on seamless discovery and daily habits

Commenting on the launch, Deepak Maloo, vice president – Food Strategy, Customer Experience & New Initiatives at Swiggy, said the initiative reflects a shift in how the platform approaches healthier food discovery.

“EatRight marks an important step in how we’re reimagining discovery of a better-for-you selection on Swiggy. As consumer expectations evolve, the opportunity not only lies in offering a wider assortment to choose from, but also in ensuring a seamless experience, at scale,” Maloo said.

He added that the new category is designed to integrate health-forward options naturally into routine ordering behaviour. “With EatRight, we are offering food options that blend seamlessly into a user’s regular ordering habits, removes decision fatigue through clear categorisation and integrates healthier choices naturally into everyday food ordering. By combining choice, convenience, and consistency, Swiggy aims to make mindful eating less of a one-time resolution and more of a sustainable, everyday habit for millions of users across the country,” he said.

Rising demand for healthier food, especially beyond metros

Alongside the launch, Swiggy shared internal data pointing to a steady rise in health-focused food orders on its platform. The company noted that demand in Tier-2 cities has grown at twice the pace of metro markets.

Swiggy also observed higher consumption of no-added-sugar items during breakfast and late-night hours, along with growing interest in ingredients such as tofu and soya, indicating changing dietary preferences among users.

Restaurant partners expand menus under EatRight

The company said several restaurant partners are aligning their offerings with the EatRight category by introducing new product variants and targeted pricing across select brands. These additions are expected to further expand the range of healthier options available to consumers through the platform.

Swiggy said the EatRight category is part of its broader effort to adapt to evolving consumer preferences while making health-conscious food choices more accessible at scale.
