Pine Labs has appointed Shalini Pillai as its Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), strengthening its leadership team as the fintech firm accelerates its global growth strategy.
In her new role, Pillai will lead global marketing, product marketing, communications, and brand strategy for the company. She will be responsible for driving integrated marketing initiatives and building a cohesive global brand narrative as Pine Labs expands its footprint across international markets.
Pillai joins Pine Labs from Microsoft, where she served as Marketing Director – India and South Asia. During her tenure, she spearheaded strategic marketing programmes across the region, scaling digital products and building data-driven growth engines. Over the years, she has also held leadership roles at Google, in addition to pursuing entrepreneurial ventures, bringing close to two decades of experience in technology and market strategy.
Commenting on the appointment, B Amrish Rau, CEO of Pine Labs, said that Pillai’s experience across B2C and B2B technology ecosystems makes her well-positioned to lead the next phase of the company’s marketing transformation. He highlighted her track record in scaling digital products, driving integrated brand and product marketing, and building data-led growth frameworks.
Sharing her perspective on the new mandate, Pillai said the next era of fintech will be shaped by integrated infrastructure that powers global commerce. She noted that Pine Labs sits at the intersection of merchant relationships and sovereign-scale technology, providing a unified engine that converts consumer intent into immediate execution. She added that she looks forward to scaling the company’s integrated market strategy and delivering sustained commercial value globally.
