Samsung India has promoted Shirish Agarwal as Head of Marketing for its Mobile Experience (MX) business, expanding his role to oversee the company’s overall marketing strategy and brand initiatives for its smartphone portfolio in the country.
Agarwal’s elevation comes after nearly three years as Director of Marketing, a position he has held since 2023. In his new role, he will be responsible for driving brand communication, strengthening consumer engagement, and shaping marketing strategies for Samsung’s mobile business in India.
He has had a long association with Samsung India, having first joined the company in 2009 as Deputy General Manager, Marketing, where he spent close to a decade. Over the years, he has built deep expertise in consumer behaviour, brand communication, and integrated marketing.
Before rejoining Samsung, Agarwal worked with companies such as HP, Times Internet, and CyberMedia. He also served at Panasonic India from 2019 to 2023.
Agarwal holds an MBA in Marketing from Sungkyunkwan University under the Samsung Global Scholarship Program, along with an MBA in Advertising and Communication from EMPI Business School. His appointment reflects Samsung India’s continued focus on strengthening its marketing leadership amid growing competition in the mobile segment.
