Reliance Retail Limited (RRL) has acquired actor-entrepreneur Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ global haircare brand Anomaly, taking full ownership of its trademarks, brand assets, and digital properties. The move is part of the company’s broader push to strengthen its presence in the fast-growing beauty and personal care segment.
Launched in 2021, Anomaly has built a reputation as a clean, vegan, and accessible haircare brand with a presence across major international markets. With this acquisition, Reliance Retail gains control over the brand’s intellectual property and digital ecosystem, allowing it to scale Anomaly through its extensive offline retail network and digital platforms, including Tira.
The acquisition aligns with Reliance Retail’s strategy of expanding its portfolio of new-age consumer brands while leveraging its omnichannel capabilities to drive growth. The company plans to prioritise India as a key market, developing products tailored to local hair and scalp needs, while continuing to grow Anomaly’s footprint in North America, the United Kingdom, and the Middle East.
Isha Ambani said the addition of Anomaly marks a strategic step in building a strong basket of high-growth beauty brands, highlighting the brand’s global positioning, clean formulation philosophy, and accessible pricing as key strengths.
Chopra Jonas will continue her association with Anomaly as Creative Director, leading innovation and product development. She described the acquisition as a defining moment for the brand, adding that Reliance Retail’s scale and expertise will help take Anomaly to a wider audience in India and globally, while staying true to its founding vision.
