Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL), the fast-moving consumer goods division of Reliance Industries, has acquired a majority stake in Australia-based Goodness Group Global, marking its formal entry into the Australian FMCG market and a key step in its global growth strategy. The deal gives RCPL control of Goodness Group’s portfolio of “better-for-you” beverages, broadening the Indian company’s presence beyond its existing markets in the Middle East and South Asia.

Goodness Group, headquartered in Sydney, is known for its range of health-oriented drinks that cater to evolving consumer demand for low-sugar, functional beverage options. Its flagship brands include Nexba, a gut-health-focused drink made with plant-based ingredients, and PACE, a hydration beverage co-created with Australian cricket captain Pat Cummins. Other offerings under the Goodness Group umbrella include protein drink brand BISON and the liquid breakfast product GOOD BREKKIE.

A partnership built for scale

Under the strategic partnership, RCPL will leverage its supply chain and distribution strengths to expand the reach of Goodness Group’s brands into new markets including India. The acquisition aligns with RCPL’s ambition to build a robust health-focused beverage portfolio and support the global growth of products that appeal to health-conscious consumers.

T. Krishnakumar, Director at Reliance Consumer Products, described the move as “a bold step towards establishing RCPL as a global FMCG company from India,” noting that the addition of Nexba and PACE will strengthen the company’s beverage offerings and make them widely available across several markets.

Goodness Group’s founder welcomes the collaboration

Troy Douglas, Founder of Goodness Group Global, welcomed the deal, saying RCPL’s expansive network and capabilities make it “an incredibly strong and sophisticated partner” as the company pursues its ambition to become a global leader in the “better-for-you” category over the next five years.

Reinforcing global FMCG ambitions

The acquisition adds another dimension to Reliance Consumer’s international business, which already includes a suite of wellness-oriented and traditional beverages such as RasKik and Sun Crush juices, zero-sugar carbonated drinks, and the herbal-natural brand Shunya. By absorbing an established player like Goodness Group, RCPL reinforces its commitment to global expansion and diversifies its product range to include beverages that resonate with shifting consumer preferences toward health and functional nutrition.

Overall, the move underscores Reliance Consumer’s broader strategy to grow its footprint across developed and emerging markets while enhancing its ability to serve evolving consumer tastes with a wider and more innovative product portfolio.
