OPPO India has announced a strategic association with Sony LIV as the co-presenter of Shark Tank India Season 5, aligning its brand philosophy “Make Your Moment” with the country’s flagship entrepreneurial reality show. The partnership reflects a shared emphasis on creativity, self-expression and the pursuit of ambition among India’s growing community of startup founders.

Strengthening the Startup Narrative

Over the years, Shark Tank India has expanded beyond a television format to become a cultural platform that brings grassroots entrepreneurship into the mainstream. By giving early-stage founders a national stage, the show has helped make startup journeys more visible, relatable and aspirational, reshaping perceptions around innovation and risk-taking in India.

OPPO’s association places the smartphone brand at the centre of this ecosystem, underlining its stated focus on enabling individuals to create, express and lead through technology.

Partnership Unveiled at Mumbai Event

The collaboration was formally unveiled at an experiential event held at the Shark Tank India set in Mumbai. The event was attended by senior representatives from both organisations, including Ranjana Mangla, head of ad revenue at Sony LIV; Goldee Patnaik, head of communications at OPPO India; and Shark Tank participants and investors Ritesh Agarwal, founder and CEO of OYO Rooms, and Shaily Mehrotra, CEO of Fixderma India.

Brand and Platform Come Together

Commenting on the partnership, Goldee Patnaik, head of communications at OPPO India, said the collaboration brings together innovation and storytelling on a national platform.

“OPPO India’s collaboration with Shark Tank India is a strategic partnership that brings technology and entrepreneurship together on India’s leading platform for innovators. While Shark Tank India provides a national stage for bold ideas, OPPO delivers solutions that enable individuals to create their own stories. Together, we are celebrating a generation of young leaders who are shaping India’s startup ecosystem,” Patnaik said.

Beyond Conventional Sponsorship

With the show entering its fifth season, OPPO said its role goes beyond conventional brand sponsorship to a more value-led collaboration. The association focuses on celebrating individuals who convert ideas into impact, positioning technology as a catalyst for expression, action and enterprise.

For OPPO, the partnership reflects a broader intent to support new-age innovators and contribute to the development of India’s innovation ecosystem.

Season 5 to Feature Expanded Panel of Sharks

Shark Tank India Season 5, scheduled to premiere in January 2025 on Sony LIV, will feature a mix of returning and new Sharks, representing diverse sectors of the Indian business landscape. The panel includes Aman Gupta (boAt), Anupam Mittal (Shaadi.com – People Group), Namita Thapar (Emcure Pharmaceuticals), Vineeta Singh (SUGAR Cosmetics), Ritesh Agarwal (OYO Rooms), Kunal Bahl (Snapdeal, Titan Capital, Unicommerce), Amit Jain (CarDekho Group, InsuranceDekho.com), Mohit Yadav (Minimalist), Varun Alagh (Honasa Consumer Ltd), Kanika Tekriwal (JetSetGo Aviation), Viraj Bahl (Veeba/VRB Consumer Products), Shaily Mehrotra (Fixderma India) and Hardik Kothiya (Rayzon Solar).

Through the collaboration, OPPO said it aims to reinforce how purpose-driven technology can amplify voices, fuel ambition and help entrepreneurs build meaningful journeys.
