Premium activewear brand lululemon is set to enter the Indian market with the launch of its first retail store at DLF Promenade in New Delhi later this autumn. The debut marks the brand's official entry into India through its franchise partnership with Tata CLiQ.
In addition to the physical store, lululemon's products will be available nationwide through Tata CLiQ Luxury and Tata CLiQ Fashion, giving consumers across India access to the brand's performance apparel and accessories.
The New Delhi store will feature lululemon's range of technical apparel and accessories for men and women across categories including yoga, Pilates, running, training, tennis, golf and everyday movement. The outlet will also function as a community hub, hosting brand ambassadors, guests and local fitness enthusiasts.
"Bringing lululemon to India is a proud milestone for our teams as we continue to grow our brand around the world," said Sarah Clark, Senior Vice President, EMEA, lululemon.
"To prepare for the opening, we have been working with Tata CLiQ to build relationships with the New Delhi community, which has a vibrant and active consumer base that is looking for premium performance products that blend technical innovation with elevated style. We are excited to welcome guests across India to lululemon in the coming months and all that's ahead for our brand in this fast-growing and energetic market," she added.
Commenting on the partnership, Gopal Asthana, CEO, Tata CLiQ, said, "We are delighted to partner with lululemon for their India launch. This marks an important milestone in our journey of bringing globally renowned brands to consumers in the country."
"Indian consumers are increasingly embracing active lifestyles and are looking for high-performance products that blend functionality and style. We believe they will strongly connect with lululemon's product offerings and community-first philosophy. We are gearing up to open the brand's first store in the coming months, along with its launch on Tata CLiQ platforms, and look forward to growing its omnichannel presence in the country," he added.
India is the latest market in lululemon's international expansion strategy. The company currently operates in more than 30 markets worldwide and earlier this year expanded into Poland, Greece, Hungary and Romania through its franchise partnership model.
