ixigo deepens OpenAI partnership targeting AI-first travel experiences

ixigo announced an expanded partnership with OpenAI to accelerate the use of advanced artificial intelligence signaling a strategic push toward building an “AI-first” travel ecosystem.

In a LinkedIn post shared by ixigo Group CEO Aloke Bajpai, the company said the enhanced collaboration will leverage OpenAI’s Enterprise APIs and next-generation models to power autonomous agents, contextual AI assistants and complex workflow automation across its core platforms including ixigo, ConfirmTkt and AbhiBus.

Under the expanded arrangement, ixigo will integrate advanced AI tools into its technology stack to support an array of new use cases, from automated internal processes to customer-facing conversational systems. 

The company notes that it has already been an early adopter of artificial intelligence within the travel sector, with approximately 90 % of its voice and chat customer support operations fully automated using AI systems, and AI tools deployed across software engineering, marketing, business processes and operations.

The announcement comes amid broader AI adoption across India’s travel technology space. Rival platforms like MakeMyTrip have also recently tapped OpenAI for enhanced AI features designed to translate conversational user queries into personalised, bookable travel options.
