The Indian Super League (ISL) has partnered with JSW MG Motor India as the title sponsor for the 2026-27 season, with the league set to be known as the MG Indian Super League.
The partnership marks the return of a title sponsor to India’s premier football league after a three-season gap. The association comes as the ISL enters a new club-led commercial phase, with a focus on expanding fan engagement, accessibility and the development of a sustainable football ecosystem in the country.
Commenting on the partnership, Karan Yadav, CEO, Indian Super League, said, “We are delighted to welcome MG as the Title Sponsor of the Indian Super League at an important moment in the league’s journey. The return of a title sponsor after three seasons is a significant milestone and a strong reflection of the belief and opportunity around Indian football.”
He added that the league is entering a new chapter with an ambition to build a stronger, commercially sustainable and fan-focused ISL, while creating greater engagement and experiences for football fans across the country.
Vinay Raina, Chief Commercial Officer, JSW MG Motor India, said the partnership builds on the company’s existing association with football and sport.
“Football has been an important part of MG’s story in India, from our association with Liverpool FC to supporting the next generation of football talent through initiatives such as our work with the Patan Girls,” Raina said.
He added that the ISL partnership would allow MG to take its football engagement to a larger national platform and create fan experiences while strengthening its connection with younger consumers.
MG has associations with football and sport across global and Indian markets. Its football portfolio includes partnerships with Liverpool FC and Arsenal, while in India, the brand has supported the Patan Girls grassroots football team from Gujarat through infrastructure and community-development initiatives.
The automaker has also backed women in sport through partnerships with golfer Tvesa Malik, Paralympic medallist Bhavina Patel, and Khel Ratna and Arjuna Awardee Deepa Malik.
The 2026-27 ISL season will return to a full home-and-away format, with clubs competing across the country.
The season is scheduled to begin on October 10, with Bengaluru FC set to host Sporting Club Delhi at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru. FC Goa will take on Chennaiyin FC at the Fatorda Stadium in Goa on the same day.
With MG joining as title sponsor, the league will enter the new season with a renewed commercial identity as it moves into its next phase of growth.
