Actor-producer Anushka Sharma has acquired a minority stake in sports footwear and apparel company Agilitas Sports, further strengthening the brand’s association with celebrity-led sportswear ventures in India.
Sharma will also collaborate with the company to build a dedicated yoga-wear category under One8, the sportswear franchise brand linked to cricketer Virat Kohli. Kohli had previously invested in Agilitas as both a co-investor and strategic partner after ending his long-term association with Puma.
Confirming the development, Agilitas co-founder and chief executive Abhishek Ganguly said Sharma has invested capital in the company and will work on expanding its yoga-wear business. However, financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
Agilitas, founded by former Puma India executives, has been expanding its presence in the Indian sportswear market through a mix of celebrity partnerships and brand-led retail strategies.
Last year, Kohli acquired a minority stake in the company in a deal reportedly valued at around ₹40 crore. As part of that arrangement, Agilitas also acquired rights to Kohli’s One8 sportswear brand.
