Zepto is set to expand its quick commerce offerings with the launch of 'Select', a premium grocery service that will feature imported food, gourmet groceries and other premium products, according to a Moneycontrol report.
The service, expected to roll out in the coming weeks following a successful pilot, will be available through a dedicated tab on the Zepto app, similar to Blinkit Gourmet. With the launch, Zepto will compete with category pioneer FirstClub and Blinkit's premium grocery offering as demand for curated, high-end grocery products continues to grow.
According to the report, Zepto has already begun onboarding premium consumer brands to strengthen its product portfolio ahead of the launch. The company recently completed a pilot in select markets, which reportedly received encouraging customer feedback.
The move marks a strategic expansion for Zepto, which has traditionally positioned itself as a platform for low-value, high-frequency purchases. The premium grocery initiative also aligns with the company's focus on deeper penetration in India's top 40–60 cities, rather than expanding aggressively into smaller markets.
The launch of Select comes as quick commerce platforms increasingly look beyond everyday essentials to drive growth through higher-value categories. Blinkit has already entered the segment with Blinkit Gourmet, while FirstClub has established itself as an early player in premium grocery.
With Select, Zepto aims to strengthen its presence in the evolving premium grocery market by offering consumers access to imported and gourmet products through its quick commerce platform.
