Reliance Retail acquires Himalayan beauty brand Pahadi Local

The fast-growing skincare and wellness brand, known for its nature-led formulations and apricot kernel oil, will be scaled through Reliance’s omni-channel retail ecosystem.

 Reliance Retail Limited has acquired the brand ‘Pahadi Local’ along with its business from Pahadi Goodness Private Limited, strengthening its presence in India’s rapidly expanding beauty and wellness segment.

Pahadi Local is an Indian beauty and wellness brand recognised for its nature-led, Himalayan-inspired formulations. Founded with the aim of bringing the purity of Himalayan ingredients into everyday personal care, the brand has carved out a niche among consumers looking for clean, sustainable skincare alternatives.

The acquisition aligns with Reliance Retail’s broader strategy of building and scaling differentiated Indian brands through its omni-channel retail ecosystem, digital commerce capabilities, and supply chain network.

Commenting on the acquisition, Isha Ambani, Executive Director of Reliance Retail Ventures Limited, said the brand’s strong roots in Himalayan wellness traditions and its responsible sourcing practices make it a valuable addition to Reliance’s beauty portfolio.

Pahadi Local’s product range draws on traditional Himalayan wellness knowledge, supported by modern formulation science. One of its key ingredients, Gutti Ka Tel (Apricot Kernel Oil), has gained strong consumer recognition and industry appreciation.

The brand also works closely with women-led self-help groups across Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh, supporting local livelihoods while contributing to initiatives related to healthcare, education, and environmental conservation. Its work in promoting indigenous sourcing has also received acknowledgment from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

As part of the deal, the founding team of Pahadi Local will continue to guide the brand’s creative direction, product development, and philosophy to ensure continuity of its purpose-led positioning.

Reliance Retail will support the brand’s next phase of growth by expanding its presence across physical retail formats, strengthening its digital footprint, and accelerating product innovation. The acquisition underscores the company’s continued focus on investing in high-potential Indian brands across beauty, wellness, fashion, and lifestyle.
