Luminous Power Technologies has appointed Vivek Abrol as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, marking a leadership transition as the company sharpens its focus on solar power, sustainability and digital transformation in India’s fast-evolving energy solutions market.
Abrol takes over from Preeti Bajaj, who led the company through a period of business expansion and operational consolidation, and will now assume a senior global responsibility at parent firm Schneider Electric.
Leadership transition at Luminous
The company said Abrol’s appointment comes at a time when demand for reliable, cleaner and decentralised energy solutions is accelerating across residential and commercial segments in India.
Bajaj, who has been closely associated with Luminous’ growth journey in recent years, will take on the role of Executive Vice President, Global Home Solutions Division at Schneider Electric.
Commenting on the transition, she said the company was entering a strong new phase.
“Luminous is well positioned for its next stage of growth. Vivek brings the right mix of leadership experience and strategic depth to build on the foundation we have created and further strengthen the company’s position in India’s energy sector,” Bajaj said.
Over 25 years of cross-sector experience
Abrol brings more than 25 years of leadership experience across fast-moving consumer goods, electricals and consumer appliances. At Luminous, he will be responsible for steering the company’s long-term strategy and overseeing its transformation into a fully integrated consumer energy fulfilment platform.
His mandate includes accelerating the company’s push into solar and sustainable energy solutions, while expanding its footprint across homes, small businesses and commercial users.
Focus on solar, digital innovation and core businesses
Alongside renewable energy expansion, Abrol is expected to reinforce Luminous’ leadership in its core inverter and battery segments, which remain key revenue drivers for the company.
The company said innovation, digital transformation and the adoption of new technologies will be central to improving customer experience, supply chain efficiency and operational performance under his leadership.
Clean energy and resilience to drive future growth
Abrol underlined that structural shifts in the energy sector will define the company’s roadmap in the coming years.
“Reliability, sustainability and technology will be the key forces shaping how energy is generated and consumed,” he said. “The sector is steadily moving towards cleaner and more resilient solutions, and Luminous is well placed to play a meaningful role in that transition.”
With Abrol at the helm, Luminous aims to deepen its role in India’s energy transition while building scale across both conventional power backup systems and emerging clean energy technologies.
