Meta has rolled out a new suite of paid subscription plans across Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp globally, as the company sharpens its focus on premium services beyond its advertising business.
The newly launched offerings include Instagram Plus and Facebook Plus, both priced at $3.99 per month, along with WhatsApp Plus at $2.99 per month. The subscriptions unlock additional features aimed at personalisation, audience engagement and enhanced messaging experiences for users across the platforms.
The rollout marks Meta’s latest move to diversify revenue streams while building premium experiences tailored for creators, businesses and power users.
According to Naomi Gleit, Meta’s head of product, the company plans to gradually expand the feature set across these subscriptions over time. Meta clarified that the new Plus plans will function separately from Meta Verified, its existing paid verification and support service.
Instagram Plus introduces features such as Story rewatch insights, searchable Story viewers, Story spotlighting for increased reach, extended Story visibility beyond 24 hours and the ability to post directly to profiles without appearing in followers’ feeds. Subscribers will also gain access to custom fonts, profile pins and app icon customisation options.
Facebook Plus will offer a similar set of audience engagement and profile customisation tools, while WhatsApp Plus focuses on messaging personalisation through custom themes, premium stickers, extra pinned chats, customised lists and personalised notification sounds.
Alongside the consumer rollout, Meta has also begun testing AI-focused subscription plans under a broader “Meta One” branding initiative.
The company will pilot Meta One Plus, priced at $7.99 per month, and Meta One Premium at $19.99 per month for Meta AI users. The higher-tier Premium plan is expected to include access to enhanced compute capabilities for advanced reasoning tasks, as well as expanded image and video generation tools across Meta’s ecosystem.
Meta AI subscription testing will initially begin next month in Singapore, Guatemala and Bolivia.
Separately, the company is also experimenting with creator and business-focused plans in markets including Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Thailand and Bangladesh.
Under these offerings, the Meta One Essential plan, priced at $14.99 per month, includes verification, impersonation protection and expanded profile links. The higher-tier Meta One Advanced plan, priced at $49.99 per month, adds discoverability tools, advanced analytics, scheduling capabilities and team account management features designed for creators, businesses and moderators.
Meta said it intends to gradually consolidate its expanding subscription ecosystem under the Meta One umbrella as it continues investing in AI, creator monetisation and premium digital experiences.
