Japanese global apparel retailer UNIQLO has announced British tennis star Emma Raducanu as its newest global brand ambassador. Raducanu will represent the brand at tennis tournaments worldwide, beginning with the Indian Wells Open in the United States in March.

Raducanu, who made history by winning the US Open in 2021 becoming the first British woman to secure a Grand Slam singles title since 1977 — will promote UNIQLO’s LifeWear philosophy internationally through her tennis career.

As part of the partnership, she joins a roster of global ambassadors that includes tennis legend Roger Federer, wheelchair-tennis icon Shingo Kunieda, and Academy Award-winning actor Cate Blanchett.

In addition to wearing UNIQLO apparel on court, Raducanu will collaborate with the brand on the design and functionality of her match outfits. She will also participate in community engagement initiatives such as the UNIQLO Next Generation Development Program, which supports young and aspiring tennis players, including those from underserved communities. The partnership will further extend to global initiatives such as Peace for All and The Heart of LifeWear.

Speaking on the announcement, Raducanu said she was pleased to join the brand and highlighted shared values around life, culture and society. She added that she looks forward to inspiring young people worldwide through her tennis journey and collaboration with the UNIQLO team.

Koji Yanai, Group Senior Executive Officer at Fast Retailing, welcomed Raducanu to the brand, noting her resilience under pressure and her commitment to excellence both on and off the court. He expressed confidence that she would be an exceptional ambassador and contribute positively to society alongside the company’s global initiatives.
