Truecaller has partnered with LinkedIn to bring professional identity and verification signals to its Caller ID service, allowing users to add more context to their calls.
Through the integration, Truecaller users can connect their LinkedIn profiles and display details including their job title and workplace alongside their name and profile picture when making calls.
New users can use ‘Login with LinkedIn’ to set up their Truecaller profile, with information such as their name and profile picture automatically populated from their LinkedIn account. Existing and new users can also use LinkedIn’s ‘Verified on LinkedIn’ feature to add their verified workplace and job title to their Truecaller profile.
Once connected, recipients will be able to see the caller’s job title and company alongside their name and profile picture on Truecaller Caller ID. They can also access the caller’s LinkedIn profile to learn more about their professional background.
Commenting on the partnership, Kunal Dua, Chief Product Officer, Truecaller, said the integration is aimed at providing users with more context about who is calling them while helping professionals establish their identity beyond a phone number.
The integration also brings LinkedIn’s verification signals to Truecaller. Where a user has verified information on LinkedIn, the relevant signals will be displayed alongside their name on Truecaller. Verified workplace information will also carry an indicator alongside the company details.
The LinkedIn connection and display of professional information remain optional. Users can choose whether to display their workplace and job title and can disconnect their LinkedIn profile at any time.
Oscar Rodriguez, VP of Trust Product, LinkedIn, said the integration allows members to extend their verified professional identity to partner platforms without having to undergo separate verification processes.
The integration is currently available to Truecaller users on Android worldwide, with the iPhone version set to roll out at a later date.
