A decade of stories and shared moments

Ten years after its entry into India, Netflix has released a special commemorative film to mark a decade of storytelling in the country, reflecting on how its content has become woven into everyday viewing habits and cultural conversations.

The film traces Netflix’s journey in India through the lens of shared emotions—moments of laughter, tears and late-night binge-watching—that have shaped the platform’s relationship with Indian audiences over the years.

Shah Rukh Khan lends his voice to the celebration

Narrated by Shah Rukh Khan, the film draws on a voice deeply associated with Indian cinema and collective memory. His narration evokes nostalgia around first films, early fandoms and the lasting impact of stories that continue to resonate long after the screen goes dark.

Netflix India reflects on its audience-led journey

Commenting on the milestone, Vamsi Murthy, senior director of marketing at Netflix India, highlighted the role of viewers in shaping the platform’s growth.

“Over the last ten years, Netflix India has grown alongside its audiences by turning great stories into shared experiences,” Murthy said. “Our journey is inseparable from the fans who embraced these stories, built fandoms around them, and carried them into everyday conversations.”

He added that the film serves not only as a retrospective but also as a forward-looking commitment. “This film is both a celebration of that journey and a promise to keep nurturing stories and creating moments that feel personal, deeply Indian, and rooted in community,” Murthy noted.

A tribute to authenticity and emotional storytelling

As Netflix completes a decade in India, the film stands as a tribute to the audiences who made its stories their own. It also underscores a broader message: stories grounded in emotion and authenticity do more than travel across geographies—they endure, leaving a lasting imprint on viewers and communities alike.
