Independent advertising agency Crayons has completed 40 years in business, marking a milestone in its journey from a single-office agency in New Delhi to a multi-city advertising network with an international presence in Dubai.

Founded by Kunal Lalani in July 1986, the agency has steadily expanded its footprint over the decades. After establishing its base in New Delhi, Crayons opened offices in Chandigarh in 1996 before extending its presence to Jaipur, Mumbai, Lucknow, Chennai and Kolkata. In 2006, it entered the Gulf market with the launch of its Dubai office.

Over the years, the agency has built a diverse client portfolio spanning tourism, aviation, healthcare, hospitality and consumer goods. Its clientele includes Air India, Tata, ITC, Kajaria, Fortis Healthcare, APL Apollo, The Leela Hotels, as well as several state tourism boards and government institutions.

Crayons broadened its service offerings in 2011 by adding specialised capabilities across media, digital, out-of-home advertising and events through businesses such as Melon Media, Ultraviolet Digital, Amber OOH and Jade Events.

The company also marked a key business milestone by listing on the NSE SME platform in May 2023.

Looking ahead, Crayons said its next phase of growth will centre on strengthening its integrated marketing capabilities while embedding artificial intelligence across its service offerings to enhance creativity, efficiency and client outcomes.
