Colgate-Palmolive (India) has named former India cricketer Rahul Dravid as brand ambassador for Colgate Total as part of a new oral health awareness campaign.

The initiative seeks to position oral care as a key component of athletic performance, reframing it as an essential part of overall physical readiness rather than just hygiene. Backed by scientific research, the brand noted that oral germs can enter the bloodstream, potentially contributing to inflammation and impacting muscle recovery and stamina.

The campaign presents oral care alongside sleep, nutrition and training as part of an athlete’s daily routine. It also highlights Colgate Total’s Dual Zinc + Arginine technology, which the company says helps prevent eight dental problems by combating germ build-up.

Commenting on the partnership, Dravid said that oral health is an often-overlooked factor in sports performance, adding that global teams and coaches such as Hansi Flick now mandate dental exams for players as part of their training protocols.

Gunjit Jain, EVP – Marketing at Colgate-Palmolive (India), said the collaboration aims to bring greater awareness to the link between oral health and sports performance, while showcasing the brand’s technology designed to fight germ build-up and support preventive care.

The campaign will roll out across digital and social media platforms, supported by influencer-led content.
